An important new appointment has been made to support and enable delivery of our significant change portfolio.

Jenny Baynes joins the University on Monday 22 August as Director of the Transformation Office. 

Developed last year, the Transformation Office has oversight of several areas of significant change at Leeds, helping us deliver the core aims of our University strategy. It encompasses a number of existing change programmes, including:

Jenny joins us as the Transformation Office finalises a single plan for delivery of projects within these programmes. This will clarify how we prioritise resources in the coming years to achieve the digital transformation of the University, fundamentally improving the educational experience of students and the work experience of colleagues. 

Stewart Ross, Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Leeds, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jenny to the University to lead on the essential work the Transformation Office will do in coordinating the various change activities to improve the learning experience for students and working life for colleagues. 

“She brings invaluable experience and expertise in leading change in large, complex organisations.”

Currently Head of Enterprise Portfolio and Business Improvement at National Highways, Jenny is an experienced and qualified transformation leader. She has led on a number of large-scale programmes, in both the private and public sector, to deliver improved services, systems and culture change. 

Speaking about her appointment, Jenny said: “I’m very pleased to be joining the University. My key passion is leading a vision and bringing people together to achieve a joint purpose, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to help bring about change that will improve both the student and staff experience.”
