Information session | Fresh Steps Development Programme (Grades 2-5)
11am to 12 noon, tomorrow (8 February)

Find out more about the Fresh Steps Development Programme, ask any questions you have and hear from previous participants. Fresh Steps is a three-month innovative personal and work development course for colleagues in Grade 2-5 roles. It enables people to view their professional progress, reassess their priorities and direction, and set and achieve new personal and work goals.

Register | Concordat Resources and Activities on Offer event
1.30-3pm, tomorrow (8 February)

The next event in the Concordat Awareness Month series, providing a whistle-stop tour of the career development and positive impact activities on offer at Leeds, is taking place in room 1.35 in the School of Chemistry, in the Parkinson Building. Throughout February, you can sign up for a variety of events highlighting development opportunities for researchers.

Springboard Development Programme for women (Grades 2-5)

Applications close at 5pm on 9 February for the next Springboard Development Programme, running from February to May. Designed specifically for the personal and professional development of women in Grade 2-5 roles, the programme covers topics including improving self-confidence, being more proactive, effective communication and assertiveness.

Build your Scholarship Practice 

Sign up to take part in the Build your Scholarship Practice programme, run by Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL). The programme provides tailored scholarship development workshops and community of practice meetings, and consists of three strands: a writing community group (for which the deadline to book is 5pm on 12 February), six themed Scholarship of Teaching and Learning development workshops and a reading group. You can now book all three elements of the programme, which begin in March.

Sign up for a virtual event to explore LinkedIn Learning and see how it can support your learning and development. You can also access a LinkedIn Learning staff guide on the OD&PL website.

Student panel on academic personal tutoring
2-3.30pm, 22 February  

Join an event to learn more about student perspectives of academic personal tutoring (APT). A panel of students from a range of schools and backgrounds will reflect on their experiences of APT. The session is open to all colleagues, and is designed to facilitate authentic and honest conversations to support the development of our practice. 

Academic personal tutoring (APT) discussion group 
12 noon to 1pm, 27 February

Sign up to join a focussed APT discussion group for colleagues interested in the development of APT at Leeds. Discussion in this online session will be around the theme of staff training and development in the role of tutor. 

Development sessions for mentors 

Sign up for a new series of lunch and learn sessions to support mentor development. The OD&PL sessions feature speakers from across the University, sharing their learning and experience of being a mentor. Topics covered include overcoming self-doubt, navigating modern careers, reverse mentoring and mediation. The online events are available to all mentors, and you don’t need to be part of the University-wide Mentoring Scheme to sign up.
