Free and confidential financial wellbeing sessions for staff

The University is partnering with money advice charity, Money Buddies, to offer free and confidential financial wellbeing sessions for colleagues.

Money Buddies provides help, support and advice on money issues such as how to budget, maximise income, save money on bills and switch utility suppliers.  

Whether you need legal debt advice, are having difficulty paying a debt, or if you’re not sure what to do about your finances, they can help. You don’t need to have a financial crisis to get help, they can save you money on gas, electricity, water bills and more. 

Being Leeds-based, their local knowledge means that they understand the difficulties their clients face. They have a range of legal debt advice and financial capability solutions that could ease or remove money-related difficulties. 

They provide free help, support and advice on money issues such as: 

  • Debt worries 

  • Letter writing for creditors 

  • Benefit entitlement checks 

  • Form filling for energy and water trust applications 

  • Budgeting 

  • Energy efficiency, finding better energy deals, switching utility suppliers to reduce household outgoings and make savings. 

Money Buddies also deliver an emergency legal debt advice service. They will call and negotiate with creditors. 

In person or online advice sessions with Money Buddies can be booked in advance on most Wednesday mornings between 9am-12noon.
