Immediate changes to car parking on campus

Owing to a significant increase in demand, it has been necessary for the University to temporarily pause the issuing of new car parking permits.

Blue Badge permit applications aren’t affected by this.

Colleagues applying for a permit will be placed on a waiting list and informed as soon as there’s availability.

Revising our car parking policy for the longer term

The current policy on car parking remains that agreed during COVID. As more colleagues return to work on campus, it’s therefore timely to consider a revised, longer-term strategy.

This is part of the Facilities Directorate’s business plan for the year ahead and will commence shortly, with a view to implementing any changes for the start of the 2024/25 academic year. The revised policy will be developed in consultation with colleagues, and further details of the process and timelines will be shared as soon as they’re available.

Day rates

Colleagues can continue to arrange day parking through the University’s permit system for the competitive rates of £7 for a single credit, £70 for 12 and £105 for 20.

Further information about day parking and car parking on campus is available on the Estates and Facilities website.

Please contact carparking@leeds.ac.uk if you have any questions.
