Academic personal tutoring workshop
11am to 12.15pm, 6 October

Sign up for an introduction to academic personal tutoring, designed for those new to the role at Leeds. The workshop will look at key aspects of academic personal tutoring, such as the boundaries of the role, referrals and facilitating a sense of belonging.

A guide to LinkedIn Learning for staff

Read OD&PL’s LinkedIn Learning guide to discover how your free account can support your personal and professional development. The staff guide highlights recommended content, provides tips on using your account and explains how you can become a curator of learning content. 

Professional Recognition in Student Education (PRiSE)

The PRiSE scheme supports colleagues to achieve professional recognition for their contributions to student education. You can apply for Associate Fellowship, Fellowship or Senior Fellowship and the next submission deadline is in January – attend a PRiSE introduction session to find out more. The next available session is on 16 November, but further dates are available. Accredited by Advance HE, PRiSE has recently undergone some changes to align with the revised Professional Standards Framework

University-wide mentoring scheme

Sign up before 5pm on 27 October to be part of the next round of matching for our University-wide mentoring scheme. Available to all colleagues, you can apply to be a mentor or mentee throughout the year with new mentoring partnerships established in May and November. OD&PL provides resources and workshops for mentors and mentees to support you in getting the most from your mentorship.

Reflective workshop for mentors
2-3pm, 25 October

If you’re a mentor on the University-wide mentoring scheme or any other mentoring programme, you can sign up for OD&PL’s upcoming reflective practice workshop for mentors to share experiences and enhance your mentoring practice.

Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) 

Congratulations to colleagues who have recently graduated from the PGCAP and been awarded Advance HE Fellowship (FHEA). The PGCAP allows you to explore different pedagogical approaches, reflect on and develop your practice and complete a research project to enhance your ongoing academic practice. You can now apply for the February 2024 PGCAP cohort and attend an online event to find out more about the PGCAP on 24 October.
