Celebrating technicians
As part of Technicians Week, we’re celebrating the hard work that often happens behind the scenes and shining a light on our technical community here at Leeds.
The University employs nearly 400 technicians based in faculties (both on and off campus) who provide a variety of specialist skills and crucial knowledge that enhances the teaching and research capabilities of our institution. There are also technical staff based in the Facilities Directorate, the Library and IT teams.
During Technicians Week 2023, we celebrate the essential contributions our technical community make and discover what colleagues in a variety of technical roles get up to.

You can still sign up to a whole host of activities for the rest of Technicians Week including the TechExchange Showcase, taking place in HELIX on Thursday 21 September. Featuring table and poster displays from technicians across a variety of faculties and services, find out more about the vital role technicians play in research and student education.
