Thank you for our student recruitment success

An email sent to all colleagues on Friday 1 September by Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Simone Buitendijk.

Dear colleague,

I am writing to update you on the outcome of this year's undergraduate recruitment cycle – thanks to meticulous planning and a wonderful team spirit among colleagues we have hit our institutional target, recruiting more than 8,000 students. We are in an excellent position, and I would like to say a big 'thank you' to you all.

Everyone in our University community plays their part in the student journey. I know that so much hard work has gone into achieving such a positive result against a challenging backdrop.

Our success in this year's recruitment cycle should be celebrated and it's thanks to the skills, knowledge and applicant-focused approach of colleagues that we can look ahead to the coming year with confidence and excitement.

I'm very much looking forward to welcoming our new and returning students in a few weeks. We have been able to recruit a cohort of extremely talented, ambitious students who will thrive at Leeds. The start of the academic year is always such an exciting time for our community, when our campus comes to life again.

With thanks and best wishes,

Professor Simone Buitendijk
Vice-Chancellor and President
