Book | Gryphons Go Outdoor Kids Camp
27-28 July
Looking for some entertainment for the kids this summer? There’s still time to book them onto Sport and Physical Activity’s new Gryphons Go Outdoor Kids Camp held at Bodington Football Club. Children will learn new skills, develop existing ones and put them into practice through small-sided games. The main summer camps will run from 31 July to 25 August.
Visit | Arcadia for All? Rethinking Landscape Painting Now
Until 29 July
Challenge your views of what landscape painting can be and explore nature in unexpected ways by visiting the Arcadia for All? exhibition at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery (Parkinson Building). Featuring work by more than 30 contemporary artists, the exhibition delves into themes of access to nature and environmental crisis, as well as issues around equity, colonial legacies and racism.
Child Friendly Leeds Live
2 August
Tickets are on sale for the biggest children’s festival in Yorkshire. Aimed at children aged 12 and under, the event will feature popular children’s characters, performers, music and entertainment. Our Be Curious team are also taking part, bringing two groups of researchers who will be sharing activities to get hands on with their research.

The LGBT+ Staff Network, along with allies, are marching at Leeds Pride in the city centre from lunchtime onwards on 6 August and are inviting colleagues to join in. There are just a few places left, so sign up to join the Network at Leeds Pride if you’d like to attend.
Meltwater at the Howard Assembly Rooms

The Priestley Centre for Climate Futures, water@leeds and Opera North will present Meltwater at the Howard Assembly Room, a haunting audio-visual performance displaying the beauty of melting glaciers and water’s devastating power, told through personal narratives of the impact of floods and drought. A post-show talk will feature University experts in discussion with the performers.
