Staff Festival 2023 All Staff email. June 2023

Dear colleague,

This year’s Staff Festival makes a welcome return on Friday (30 June), and I hope as many of you as possible will join together on campus for what promises to be an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment.

A lot has happened in the four years since we were last able to meet as a community like this, so it’s wonderful to once again be able to offer you the opportunity to relax and unwind in the company of your colleagues, family and friends.

For many of you, this might be your first time attending, as so many new people have joined the University in that time. That makes it even more exciting!

For those who might not know what’s involved, our dedicated Staff Festival committee has been working around the clock to plan a host of activities for you to enjoy, from fairground rides and food stalls to workshops and live music, much of which is free of charge. The fun runs from 3-7pm, and we’ve asked managers to ensure as many of you as possible are given the time to attend.

Any funds raised on the day will support two great good causes, Homeless Street Angels and Zarach, which were voted for by you. Community and compassion are an integral part of our University strategy and values, so I’m delighted to see these are at the heart of the Staff Festival experience.

Here’s hoping for good weather, and I very much hope it’s a day to remember for everyone able to attend.

Best wishes,

Professor Simone Buitendijk
