Save the date | Staff Festival 2023

An email issued by Chief Operating Officer, Rachel Brealey, to all staff on 20 June.

Staff Festival 2023 | Charity nominations open. January 2023

Dear colleague,

It’s official… the countdown is well and truly on for this year’s Staff Festival and we can’t wait to see you there!

One of the most exciting events on the University calendar, the entertainment takes place on campus on 30 June and is open to all colleagues, together with your family and friends.

This is the first time the Staff Festival has been held since 2019, so we’re really excited to see everyone coming together once again to unwind and celebrate all we do as a university. The festival is also a chance to say thank you to every member of our amazing community for all the hard work you do.

The fun begins at lunchtime with a range of fantastic food stalls to whet your appetite, with the festival itself running from 3-7pm.

A packed programme of attractions and family-friendly activities will be on offer, many of which are free of charge, with the aim of making this year’s festival bigger and better than ever before. From face painting and glitter tattoo artists to dodgems and Didicar racing, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. For those brave enough, you can also challenge yourself on the inflatable climbing wall, bungee run or skate and snowboard simulators!

Stalls and workshops, ranging from Bollywood dance and aromatherapy to cocktail making and beer tasting, all add to the occasion. And don’t forget the amazing live music taking place on the main stage!

Managers have been asked to ensure as many colleagues as possible have the opportunity to take part in at least some of the Staff Festival activities, so please ask them if you have any questions about when you can attend.

Each year, the festival also supports charities nominated and voted for by you. This year’s beneficiaries are Homeless Street Angels and Zarach. It’s an ideal opportunity to raise much-needed funds and generate further awareness of these good causes while having lots of fun.

Fingers crossed the sun continues to shine, but either way I’ve no doubt the Staff Festival will be an amazing event and a celebration to remember. I’m very much looking forward to seeing you all there, so please save the date in your diary!

Kind regards,

Rachel Brealey
