Build your Scholarship Practice

The next event of the Build your Scholarship Practice programme takes place on campus on 29 June. Working with a community of peers and tutors, SoTL Writing Energiser teaches practical strategies for exploring your identity as a writer, generating ideas for scholarship, getting started with writing and assessing the viability of ideas.  

Apply | Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship 

Applications are open for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA). The CMDA strengthens the leadership skills of new and existing managers and focuses on the theory and practice of management as well as fundamental business concepts. It will help prepare you to progress onto more senior roles. Course fees are paid by the University and the application deadline is 1 October. Information events to find out more will run in June and July.  

Join | How to make LinkedIn work for you  

There is still time to sign up for a new OD&PL programme to enhance your use of LinkedIn, starting tomorrow (8 June). it is aimed for colleagues in grade two to five roles, and explores how you can use LinkedIn to improve your personal brand and how an effective LinkedIn profile can help you to find the right job, connect with others and learn the skills to succeed in your career. 

Join | Management Plus Programme 

Sign up for a new series of management development sessions from OD&PL. Running in June and July for established line managers, sessions focus on coaching colleagues, managing change, creating purpose and engagement, and building relationships and networks. Select the relevant sessions or attend all. 

Research Culture Change for Leaders 

A new OD&PL event provides support for research leaders to create a positive working environment and culture for researchers to thrive. Initially planned as a multi-event programme, the format has changed to a standalone event at Cloth Hall Court which will take place on 11 July from 9.30am-3pm. The deadline to apply is 5pm on 23 June. You can also register your interest for future sessions on this topic currently being developed.

Sign up for an online workshop on 22 June to explore and experience how active listening can enhance your academic personal tutoring practice. Refine your active listening skills and explore listening from different perspectives.
