After a break of three years due to COVID-19 restrictions, plans are already in full swing for this summer’s exciting instalment of the hugely popular entertainment extravaganza, with a packed programme of events in the pipeline.

All colleagues, family and friends are invited to join us on campus on 30 June for an enjoyable afternoon of activities. Full details will be announced during the coming weeks, but we can now reveal the family-friendly fun lined up for the big day.

In addition to the dodgems, there will be an inflatable climbing wall, Didicar racing, a 35ft twin-lane bungee run, gladiator joust, bouncy castles, sumo suits and surf, skate and snowboard simulators.

Giant garden games and archery will also be on offer, together with many of the regular features colleagues know and love from past festivals, such as face painting, glitter tattoo artists and a caricaturist.

Staff Festival Project Manager, Jo Westerman, said: “After the enforced break we’ve had during the past few years, our committee members are dedicated to making the festival bigger and better than ever before.

“We’re delighted the dodgems are making a welcome return, and there’s lots of new attractions to enjoy this year, such as the archery and gladiator joust. It’s going to be lots of fun!

“Watch this space as we’ll be announcing regular updates as more attractions are confirmed. These will include mouth-watering food and drink, workshops, stalls and live music for all ages.”
