Sign up to support Staff Festival success
An appeal has been issued to help make this year’s Staff Festival the best ever.
Colleagues having fun at the last Staff Festival
After a break of three years due to COVID-19 restrictions, plans are already in full swing for this summer’s exciting instalment of the hugely popular entertainment extravaganza, with a packed programme of events in the pipeline.
All colleagues, family and friends are invited to join us on campus on 30 June for an enjoyable afternoon of activities, full details of which will be announced nearer the time.
As in previous years, the event’s success will rely on the hard work of a dedicated team of volunteers, together with those willing to showcase their skills through a variety of wonderful workshops and memorable musical performances.
Anyone interested in lending a hand or adding to the attractions is invited to register their support as soon as possible.
Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the day is a big success
Staff Festival Project Manager, Jo Westerman, said: “We’re already in the process of organising this year’s event, and our committee members are dedicated to making the festival bigger and better than ever before.
“Watch this space as we’ll be announcing regular updates as attractions are confirmed. These will include mouth-watering food and drink, workshops, fairground rides, stalls and live music for all ages.
“This summer’s instalment takes on extra special importance given how many years we’ve been unable to join together to celebrate as a community. We’re keen to make up for lost time, but we can only do this with the super support of colleagues across the University.
“We’d be incredibly grateful if you would consider sparing a few hours to lend a helping hand on the day. And we’d particularly like to hear about any musical acts you think should grace our main stage, or from colleagues who would like to run a stall or hold a workshop at the festival to showcase their amazing skills. The more the merrier!”
Bands and choirs have the opportunity to perform on the main stage
Workshops from past festivals included making streamers, free-hand body art, fresh flower buttonhole making, a DJ school, aromatherapy, cocktail making, paper quilling and beer tasting among many others.
Whether you plan to sign up as a volunteer, register for a workshop or simply attend on the day, we hope as many colleagues as possible will mark the date in their diaries to join in the fantastic fun.Posted in: University newsStaff Festival
