Our Future Health, the UK’s largest health research programme, is opening a clinic on campus which will operate from 6 March.

Our Future Health aims to transform the prevention, detection and treatment of conditions such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke. With up to five million volunteers across the UK, the goal is to create one of the most detailed pictures ever of people’s health.

We are working with Our Future Health to invite University of Leeds staff and students to become volunteers.

Anyone over the age of 18 can join by signing up online, completing an online health and lifestyle questionnaire, and booking an appointment to give a small blood sample at the clinic at Beech Grove House.

At your appointment, as well as having a small blood sample and some physical measurements taken, you will be offered information about your own health, including blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

In the future, you will also be given the option to receive feedback about your risk of some diseases and have the opportunity to take part in cutting-edge research studies.

Our Future Health’s journey so far

Our Future Health’s mission is to bring together five million people, to create an incredibly detailed picture of the UK's health. Leeds led the rollout of Our Future Health’s regional clinics with the opening of the first high-street location in the city centre in September 2022.

As of 14 February 2023, over 252,000 people have consented to join Our Future Health.

How to sign up today

If you haven't already joined Our Future Health, you can do so on their website. You can have your appointment at Beech Grove House, right here on campus, for a limited time only.
