Leeds Partnership Awards 2023 | Nominations open. January 2023

The annual Leeds Partnership Awards will once again highlight the achievements of staff and students who truly put into practice the Leeds Partnership – an agreement setting out our shared commitment to work together to support all aspects of our University community.

It only takes a few minutes to fill out the form, and you can nominate yourself, a colleague or a student for any of the 14 category awards up for grabs. Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 19 February and winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony on Tuesday 9 May.

Professor Jeff Grabill, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Student Education, said: “The Leeds Partnership Awards are a fantastic opportunity to highlight the amazing people at the core of our learning community, helping us to pause and appreciate the collaboration and inclusivity in our work, as well as the commitment to innovative research and learning methods at the heart of the University of Leeds.

“The awards are open to students and staff working across all areas of the University, and I look forward to celebrating with you all.”

Positive impact

By being nominated for one of these prestigious awards, staff and students are acknowledged for their successes outside of traditional markers, such as grades or performance reviews, adding to their sense of wellbeing and belonging at Leeds. It might also help boost their career prospects in the process.

In the spirit of reflection, improvement and mutual respect at Leeds, nominating someone for a Partnership Award is the perfect way to recognise those who’ve gone above and beyond in every area of University life – paying forward the positive impact they’ve already made and creating the foundations for further inspiring work.

Last year’s winners covered a broad spectrum of the University community.

Bethan Corner, Leeds University Union’s (LUU) Education Officer, said: “The Leeds Partnership Awards are an opportunity to celebrate everything Leeds University is about.

“Nominations are for everyone – students, colleagues or collective groups. The awards are a great chance to get together and champion the best of the best. I can't wait to be involved and celebrate this year!"

Inclusive

Historically, the Leeds Partnership Awards have always looked to celebrate the achievements of our staff and students. Since 2022, however, we’ve been realigning the awards to be inclusive of all those in our community who contribute to making sure our students love their time at Leeds.

Categories range from those highlighting our commitment to equality and inclusion, wellbeing and innovation to working with a global focus.

There are also dedicated awards to celebrate inspirational teachers, supervisors and mentors, as well as outstanding students, academic personal tutors, postgraduate researchers and student academic reps, among others.
