Keith Greenwood

Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on Monday 17 October 2022, of Keith Greenwood, member of staff in the University Library.

Keith started working for the University in 2007 as a shelving assistant. Initially in the Edward Boyle Library and after spending a short period at Laidlaw Library, he settled into the Brotherton Library. His favourite floors to shelve were Main 1 and 2 (Modern History and Languages), and he was our speediest and most efficient shelver (with a particular knack for squishing more books on a shelf than might necessarily fit).

He was a very private man, and an avid reader. He loved music and was involved in the local music scene. A tribute evening is being planned for Keith at the Chemic Tavern in Headingley to raise funds for Andy’s Man Club.

The funeral service will be held at 11.30am on Wednesday 23 November 2022 at Rawdon Crematorium, Leeds Road, Rawdon, LS19 6JP, and afterwards at Weetwood Hall, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in his memory.
