Unite and UNISON to take industrial action

Additional strike action is to take place at the University of Leeds in November.

Five days of strike action have been announced by Unite on Thursday 24, Friday 25, Monday 28, Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 November. Seven days of strike action have been announced by UNISON on Thursday 24, Friday 25, Saturday 26, Sunday 27, Monday 28, Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 November.

This is in addition to strike action previously announced by University and College Union (UCU) on Thursday 24, Friday 25 and Wednesday 30 November.

During the strike period, our actions as a University community are guided by three underlying principles. These are to:

  • protect the interests of students
  • retain the cohesion of our community; and
  • protect the standard of Leeds degrees and other qualifications.
