Latest update | SAP

Email sent to all staff on Friday 21 October by Rachel Brealey, Chief Operating Officer.

Dear colleagues,

I am writing to update you on the power issue which has affected SAP, the main University system that is used by our finance (including research grants), purchasing, human resources and student management processes.

Good progress has been made resolving the issue and restoring SAP. However, the team will be carrying out extensive testing today to ensure SAP and related services are fully functional. This means these services will not be available today.

As the team works to test and restore the system, you may receive notifications from SAP. However, please do not log in to SAP as it is not yet available for general use.

When the system is fully restored, our immediate priority is ensuring our payroll processes can operate as normal this month. For that reason, we would encourage you to delay non-business critical requests until later next week.

A full list of affected services is available on the For Staff website and on the IT Service Status page.

We have extended the student registration deadline from October 31 to November 7 to allow students more time to complete the process.

We will provide a further update early next week to let you know when the system is available for general use.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused for both our staff and student communities.

With best wishes,

Rachel
