Dr George Stainsby
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on Wednesday 2 March 2022, of Dr George Stainsby, former Reader in the Proctor Department of Food Science, aged 99.
George was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Leather Industries in 1959, being promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1962 and Reader in 1980. He retired in 1988 after 29 years’ service to the University.
The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday 5 April 2022 at Skipton Crematorium, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in his memory.
