Help shape digital teaching and learning

Jisc Digital Experience Insights survey. March 2022

You might remember that last year we took part in the Jisc Digital Experience Insights survey, which provided vital insight into staff and student experiences of online teaching and learning during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The information we captured enabled us to make changes to our provision based on student feedback, including addressing issues with campus Wi-Fi connections, improving access to equipment and providing more support to create interactive, engaging learning activities.

Now, as we shape the future of learning and teaching for the next academic year and beyond, that insight is more important than ever.

How you can support

We know colleagues have already invested hugely in the pivot to digital education, so it’s vital we understand what’s working well and where we can make improvements.

We recognise there are lots of calls being made on you. However, we’d be grateful if colleagues in student-facing roles could encourage them to take part in the student survey to ensure we get the broadest range of feedback possible.

Promotional and cascade materials are also available – please use these to share the survey with your students.

All students who complete the survey using their University email address will be entered into a draw to win an iPad Pro, but we really want to emphasise this is an opportunity for them to help shape and improve future learning.

If you’re an academic delivering digital teaching, please complete the staff survey, so we can ensure you’re receiving all the support you need to provide the best experience for our students.

Both surveys should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. The student survey will remain open until midnight on Monday 21 March, while the deadline for the staff survey has been extended to midnight on Friday 25 March, to ensure we gain as much feedback as possible.
