Peter Morrish
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 30 December 2021, of Peter Morrish, former Sub-Librarian in the Brotherton Library.
Peter was appointed as Sub-Librarian in 1965, a position he held until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the Thoresby Society, the Historical Society for Leeds and District, serving as Programme Secretary from 1990 to 1998, and as President from 2000 to 2005. This led to a number of publications including ‘Ralph Thoresby (1658-1725) of Leeds, Books and Libraries’, and ‘Libraries in Leeds: A historical survey 1152-1939’, which was the Society's publication for 2018.
The funeral service will be held at 11.30am on Thursday 27 January 2022 at Lawnswood Crematorium, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in Peter’s memory.
