Emeritus Professor Jeremy Elston
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on Saturday 18 September 2021, of Emeritus Professor Jeremy Elston.
After associations with the Universities of Reading, Nottingham and Ahmadu Bello, Jeremy was appointed in 1978 as Professor of Crop Science in the Department of Plant Sciences, working in the areas of agricultural botany and agrometeorology. He served as Head of Department between 1980 and 1985, and as Chairman of the School of Biological Sciences until his retirement in 1991, at which time the status of Emeritus Professor was bestowed upon him.
The private funeral will be held on Thursday 14 October 2021, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will flown at half-mast in his memory.
