Emeritus Professor David Lindley
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on Friday 20 August 2021, of Emeritus Professor David Lindley, former Chair in Renaissance Literature.
David came to the University in 1978 as Lecturer in the School of English, being promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1985, Reader in 1995 and Chair in Renaissance Literature in 2000.
He served twice as Head of the School of English, and also as Pro-Dean for Research in the Faculty of Arts. He retired in 2014 after thirty-six years’ service to the University.
The funeral service will be held at on Monday 13 September 2021, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in his memory.
