Alison Moore

Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on Tuesday 27 July, of Alison Moore, former School Manager in the School of Education.

Alison graduated with a degree in modern languages and trained initially as a solicitor. She joined the University in February 1993 and, throughout her time at the University, she worked in the School of Education, supporting and managing research, teaching and leadership activities. She showed skills which served her well during her professional career and had an eye for the bigger picture, as well as for the detail.

Alison had a strong collegiate ethos and worked tirelessly for the good of the school. She was heavily involved in the Bretton Hall College move, as well as bringing together the Schools of Continuing Education and of Education. She was always ready to go the extra mile to support her colleagues and to further the strategy of the school.

Alison left the University in 2016 to pursue her passions of art, music and travel.

The private funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 18 August. Family flowers only but donations, if desired, can be made to Target Ovarian Cancer and Manorlands Hospice, Oxenhope.

The flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast on the day of the funeral in Alison’s memory.
