The Big Leeds Conversation is now open!

From Monday 12 July, you are invited to help co-create our new values and behaviours through an anonymous, online discussion.

The Big Leeds Conversation is your opportunity, along with all students and postgraduate researchers, to share views, rate ideas and help establish the new values and behaviours that will shape our future.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simone Buitendijk, explains why it’s important for us to take on this challenge together in this short video

How to join the conversation

On Monday 12 July, you will receive access to The Big Leeds Conversation platform –an anonymous online space to share views, rate ideas and help establish the values and behaviours that will shape our future.

In this first conversation we will discuss:

  • What behaviours should we expect, and what behaviours should we not tolerate at the University of Leeds?
  • What do you enjoy about working at the University?
  • What ideas do you have on how we can become a truly values-led University?

We are partnering with an independent organisation, called Clever Together, to host The Big Leeds Conversation. On Monday 12 July, they will email you with your login details and further instructions. This email will come from thebigleedsconversation@clevertogether.com – please check your clutter folder if it does not reach your inbox.

If you work in the Facilities Directorate and have opted into SMS text communications, you’ll receive your login details from FD UniLeeds. Anonymous, paper-based surveys have also been provided for those who either do not have access to a University email address or access to the internet.

If during the process you have problems logging on, or you do not receive your login information by the end of Monday 12 July, please email the Clever Together support team

A safe space to share and challenge ideas

The Big Leeds Conversation is an anonymous online conversation, providing a safe platform for you to have your say. This is very important as it gives you the confidence to speak freely.

You will be invited to log in to the conversation and complete a short survey before you access The Big Leeds Conversation. When completing the survey, it is your choice how much personal information you want to share. This information is collected to demonstrate the diversity of voice and opinion when building our draft values and behaviours framework – it will not be linked to anything you share within the conversation, or used for any other purpose.

Any ideas, comments or votes that you share in an online conversation will never be shown with your username or personal details.

You can read more about how we’ll use the process to create our values, including how we’re ensuring your anonymity, on The Big Leeds Conversation website

The first Big Leeds Conversation will close at 5pm on Friday 30 July.
