Dr Stewart Telfer

Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on Sunday 16 May 2021, of Dr Stewart Telfer, former Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Physiology and Nutrition.

Stewart came to the University in 1971 as a Lecturer. He was instrumental in the invention, together with Dr Peter Knott (Department of Ceramics), of a bio-degradable glass pellet which eliminated the trace-element deficiency in ruminants. He retired as Senior Lecturer in 1995 after twenty-four years’ service to the University.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday 8 June 2021, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in his memory.
