Countdown to Healthy Week 2021

Healthy Week returns for 2021 to ‘bring colleagues together’ by encouraging us all to get out into nature.

Healthy Week is returning in June

This year’s event, which runs from Monday 7 to Friday 11 June, aims to build on the success of last year’s virtual offering.

Colleagues will be able to take part in a selection of online content, including live classes and workshops.

In addition, this year will also see the return of some in-person activities in small groups, such as walking and running.

This year’s tagline – ‘Wherever you are, let’s do this together’ – emphasises how Healthy Week 2021 intends to bring our community together.

Kate Petty, Physical Activity and Wellbeing Officer at The Edge, said: “We really want this year’s Healthy Week to give everyone that sense of belonging, and bring us all together.

“Like last year, there will be a variety of activities to support your mental and physical wellbeing. It will be a great opportunity to get out and about, in whatever way you want, and get to know some of your colleagues through group sessions and activities.”

Exciting programme

The week-long event will also encourage us to enjoy nature, with some outdoor activities and a virtual distance challenge.

Similar to Get Out, Get Active’s BRIT Challenge, this will be an inclusive event, hosted online, that will see how far we can collectively ‘travel’ from Leeds by combining our distance totals.

The new Healthy Week website – launching with the full programme in the week commencing Monday 24 May – will also host a series of videos and blog posts, showcasing cycle routes around Leeds, recipes, wellbeing advice and more.

Pre-recorded content and written resources will be available from Monday 7 June, to access any time, while the majority of live activities will take place via Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Please contact the Healthy Week team for further information or to get involved.
