The Leeds Partnership Awards celebrate those staff, students and postgraduate researchers who truly put into practice the Leeds Partnership – an agreement setting out our shared commitment to work together to support all aspects of our University community.

Colleagues are encouraged to nominate students or fellow members of staff across a selection of 12 categories, including wellbeing, equality and inclusion, innovation and more.

The closing date for nominations is midnight on Tuesday 6 April, with winners to be announced during a ceremony later this spring.

Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Student Education, Professor Peter Jimack, said: “The Partnership Awards represent a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our community and highlight the ways colleagues and students throughout the University have worked together across so many areas.

“It is important to take a moment to appreciate the huge efforts so many people have gone to during these trying times, so I would encourage everyone to consider nominating a colleague or student for this special recognition.”

Leeds University Union’s (LUU) Affairs Officer, Izzy Walter, added: “The Partnership Awards celebrate the relationship between LUU and the University of Leeds, and the collaboration between staff and students.

“This year has brought challenges for everyone who makes up the University, so we’d really like to celebrate the individuals who’ve made inspiring contributions under such exceptional circumstances.”

The 2020 Leeds Partnership Awards received a record number of nominations, with more than 2,800 spread across 14 categories.

The traditional annual awards event in May was replaced with virtual announcements via LUU’s Twitter page, to ensure the hard work and dedication of the winners didn’t go unrecognised, even during the exceptional circumstances presented by lockdown restrictions.
