New supplier framework goes live

A new, mandatory framework of suppliers offering creative production services has been launched.

Our new, mandatory framework includes a list of 21 suppliers offering a range of strategic and creative services

New mandatory supplier framework. January 2021

Our four-year long contract with suppliers is being improved to include companies with more strategic and campaign skills.

As of today (Monday 1 February), the new framework is delivered under one grouping that includes 21 suppliers offering a range of strategic and creative skills.

The roster supplements a core in-house design team in Communications, which mainly focuses on corporate-level campaigns for student recruitment and corporate comms, as well as student education for the Digital Education Services (DES).

Colleagues have access to high-quality suppliers on our new mandatory framework. Designed to bring professionalism and consistency to the University’s creative output, you can choose from approved external companies providing services in strategic thinking, graphic design for digital and print, and video production. Among other benefits is the option of using a single agency to provide integrated services, if that’s what your project requires.

Value for money

Each supplier has been through a rigorous selection process, so you get the best value for money and the right level of support. The new suppliers can be used for marketing campaigns, promotional films, production of digital assets or printed publications and filming of major events. They’re familiar with our ways of working and our Identity Management Guidelines.

Before embarking on a project, talk through your requirements with Communications colleagues or your faculty marketing team and book in any print requirements with Print and Mail Services (formerly Print and Copy Bureau). You may find what you’re looking for already exists or similar work is planned, or that you could commission work jointly. Please don’t contact any company not on the framework – email Comms Production if you’re unsure your project is suitable to be produced by the companies listed.

Streamlining the process

We’re also streamlining the process for commissioning suppliers by making an online form that enables you to outline your project needs, automatically offering your brief to those suppliers who can support you best. Until this launches, please email Comms Production with your request, so the team can help choose the best suppliers to support your project. You can also visit the Communications website for further advice during the commissioning process.

Photography

Stills photography retains its own separate supplier list, or a different photographer can be commissioned through one of the creative suppliers working on your project, who may have their own, preferred options.

Web services

If you’re commissioning web services, please send your proposed content – as a Word document – to extwebr@leeds.ac.uk for background. Include links to any associated websites on leeds.ac.uk or those that are externally hosted (e.g. an umbrella project), together with information about key dates, the lifespan for the requested website and resources to support the site for this period.

Applications for web hosting and site redevelopment are made through the web content application form (please note this form opens in Office 365 and you will need to login with your IT username and password to submit the request).

Showcase events

Supplier showcase events will be organised in the coming months to see some of their work, together with workshop sessions on a range of topics, from how to write a good brief to getting the best value for your money. Contact Comms Production with your name, job role and email address to register your interest in attending or to suggest a workshop topic.
