Bike Hub reopens
We are pleased to announce the Bike Hub is now open following building re-entry approval.
Cycle hire and maintenance services are available once again from the Bike Hub

Things will be a little different and it will be operating on a ‘pre-booked appointment only’ basis in order to follow social distancing guidelines.
Only Bike Hub staff are allowed inside the building itself, and all exchanges must be undertaken outside at the entrance. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but please bear with us as we all adapt to a new way of working.
New Opening Hours
Bike hire: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12 noon to 4pm
Bike maintenance only: Tuesday and Thursday, 12 noon to 4pm
Booking an appointment
Visit the Eventbrite webpage to book an appointment for bike hire (15 minutes) or to book an appointment for cycle maintenance (30 minutes).
Bike hire
Please visit the webpage for further information about bike hire, including the types of cycles available, costs, duration and the hire agreement (terms and conditions).
Bike maintenance
Whether your hire bike requires some fine-tuning or your own cycle needs some attention, Bike Hub staff can assess and advise about the costs and timescales for work required.
We anticipate demand for bike maintenance is likely to be high. As an alternative, you might wish to take a look at the maintenance videos on the Bike Hub webpage.

There’s never been a better time to saddle up for a greener commute
Arriving for your appointment
On arrival for your pre-booked appointment, please call 0113 343 9179 and a Bike Hub staff member will come out to meet you. Please do not ring the bell or attempt to enter the Bike Hub.
All exchanges will be undertaken outside, where all bikes entering and exiting the Hub will be disinfected by staff in the marked area.
Please follow these instructions:
- If collecting a bike: The bike will be ready for you. Please step aside (two metres) whilst we bring the bike out to you. We will then disinfect it and give you a social-distanced tour of the bike.
- If returning a bike: Please leave the (clean) bike with the key in the lock and both lights on the bike. We will come out and disinfect the bike then refund your deposit by card at the window (contactless or phones preferred).
- For bike maintenance: Please leave your bike in the disinfecting area and step aside. We will disinfect it, take it inside, assess it and contact you with a quote and timescales for the work.
Returns and cycle storage
For hire bike returns or enquiries about access to secure cycle storage (locked cages) on campus, please email the Bike Hub to arrange a suitable time to visit.
Please see the ‘commuting to campus’ information on the coronavirus website or the Active Travel webpage for wider travel advice.
Thank you for your patience – we look forward to seeing you soon!
