Emeritus Professor Monty Losowsky
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 8 May 2020, of Emeritus Professor Monty Losowsky, former Professor of Medicine and former Dean of Medicine and Dentistry.
Professor Losowsky qualified in medicine at Leeds in 1955 and became Professor of Medicine in 1969, leading the development of medical education and academic research at St James’s University Hospital, and later serving as Dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry (1989 -1994).
After his retirement in 1996, he worked towards the creation and development of the award-winning Thackray Medical Museum, of which he was Executive Chairman from its opening in 1997 until stepping down only recently to become Life President.
The funeral service has been held, and an obituary is being prepared.
