Mandatory training reminder

All colleagues are reminded to ensure they complete the University’s mandatory Equality and Inclusion (E&I) training before 31 December 2019.

An Introduction to Equality and Inclusion covers the type of behaviours expected by all members of our University community

Equality and Inclusion training module June 2018

The module – An Introduction to Equality and Inclusion – brings our staff community up to date on equality legislation and our approach to E&I at Leeds, to help advance our work on inclusivity for staff and students. We are grateful to colleagues who have already completed the training.

The module is in a clear, easy-to-follow format, and can be completed in about 30 minutes. Access the training from the Equality Policy Unit website.

We will also shortly be undertaking an equality data collection exercise with all staff to ensure we have a full and robust evidence base across all protected characteristics – such as age, gender, ethnicity etc. – to inform our service provision. This will ensure our policies are fit for purpose and reflect the diversity of our staff community; support analyses for REF2021; and drive more intersectionality work, recognising individuals have more than one characteristic.

It is essential we have high quality and up-to-date staff equality data to be able to take appropriate action and improve outcomes for all colleagues. We would be grateful for your co-operation with this.

Please keep a lookout for an email with a link being sent out shortly, which will provide details for how to securely review and update your E&I information.

Please email the EPU team for further information.
