Climate Plan: have your say

Staff and students can now contribute towards the University’s Climate Plan.

Feedback from our roadshow will help shape the University’s Climate Plan

In September, we set out seven bold principles the University will adopt to help tackle the climate crisis.

This includes fully divesting from significant fossil fuel extractors, a commitment to a 2030 net-zero carbon footprint target and a drive to achieve no direct carbon emissions by 2050.

Our Climate Plan is now being drawn up by Sustainability Services and the Priestley Centre to set out the commitments and actions required to deliver on these aims.

And you can get involved.

All staff and students are invited to attend our Climate Plan roadshow and provide feedback on the key themes. We will use this information to finalise the Climate Plan, which we aim to publish in the New Year. There will also be an opportunity to learn how our research is contributing to net-zero emissions targets locally, nationally and internationally.

The roadshow will take place between 9am and 5pm at the following locations:

Worsley Airport Lounge (Monday 9 December)

Electrical Engineering foyer (Tuesday 10 December); and

Parkinson Court (Wednesday 11 December)

See the Facebook event page for further information.

If you are unable to attend the events, you can still contribute towards the Climate Plan by filling in the online survey, which will be launched via the web page on Monday 25 November.

You can also apply via the Sustainability website if you are interested in volunteering at one of our stalls.
