USS pension update: new contribution rates confirmed
The new contribution rates required of members and employers under the scheme's 2018 valuation have been confirmed by USS.
The new rates mean that, from October 2019:
- members will contribute 9.6% of pay and employers will contribute 21.1% until October 2021, followed by 11% and 23.7% respectively thereafter (subject to a 2020 valuation); and
- the benefits currently offered to USS members will remain the same.
