IT systems downtime: 5 November
Banner will be unavailable on Tuesday 5 November until 10am as our IT systems are restructured to support the new Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
The IT process to support the new faculty has been underway for several months and involves the creation of new structures in SAP and Banner, which interface and supply data to many other systems.
To minimise risk, it is expected that Banner will not be available to users between 8.30am and 10am on Tuesday 5 November. SAP access should not be affected.
The CRM (PGT), GRAD and KRISTAL systems will also be unavailable for a short period on the same day and ODBC users may experience some temporary disruption to service. It is not anticipated that there will be any downtime for SAP.
Some of the processes that transfer data around our corporate systems will be paused on Monday 4 November as a precautionary measure. This means that some of our data will not be up to date until Thursday 7 November.
If you’re a user that regularly inputs data, or relies on data supplied by Banner we recommend that you do not attempt to update these systems during this period of time.
Please note that we are not planning on decommissioning any IT systems as part of this project nor will there be any changes to individual log-in details. There will be some changes to the N:Drive access but folder structures will remain the same.

Changes to our faculties
Following approval by the University Senate in January 2019, the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics and the Faculty of Physical Sciences joined to form the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences on 1 August 2019.
The School of Food Science and Nutrition (formerly part of Mathematics and Physical Sciences) has joined the Faculty of Environment.
A one-year timescale was agreed for the realignment of all structures, systems and processes.
