Purchasing launches new BETA SharePoint site

The Purchasing team has launched a new website using SharePoint to help you understand the best way to buy goods and services for the University.

The new SharePoint site has been designed around Purchasing’s category structure (like stationery, travel and IT & Telecoms), which mirrors the contracts and category teams within the service. This improved layout guides you towards the most efficient and effective route to buying the various goods and services you need, be it through SIPR, Advanced Science Warehouse, Key Travel or any other possible route.

Tim Brannon, Director of Procurement, said: “Our ambition is to make the purchasing platforms, processes and procedures easy to understand and use. We have worked to understand the reasons why colleagues use our website and have designed the site so that the journey to finding information and guidance is as easy as possible and that information is clear, concise and jargon-free.

“It is important that colleagues have access to the right quality of information when buying goods and services in order to secure best value for money from reputable suppliers and I hope that this new SharePoint site reflects this goal.”

Additionally, in order for the University to generate and maintain good relationships with our supply chain and business partners, a new supplier facing webpage has been created on the University’s main website. The page provides information on how we do business with any new or prospective suppliers, including engagement, tendering and invoicing requirements.

The Purchasing team welcome feedback from colleagues across the University to continue to make the site as quick and easy to use as possible. If you have any recommendations or feedback, please email these to CentralPurchasing@adm.leeds.ac.uk.
