Language Centre transformation underway
An innovative transformation of the Language Centre’s facilities has begun.
An artists impression of how the refurbished Language Centre will look
Located in the historic Parkinson Building, the centre is undergoing significant redevelopment, predominantly on Levels 2 and 3, creating new state-of-the-art teaching facilities.
Students and colleagues will benefit from refurbished common and pastoral areas to provide a modern, attractive learning environment. There will also be a new reception/student support area and improved signage throughout.
Classroom spaces will feature audio-visual equipment to enhance the learning experience, while sector-leading, innovative spaces will allow for collaborative teaching methods facilitated with the latest technology.
Other features include:
- new breakout areas and private seating booths for group or individual study
- additional meeting and consultation rooms for one-to-one or group study sessions
- new facilities for colleagues, including kitchen areas and breakout space; and
- improved lighting and ventilation to provide a more comfortable and energy-efficient environment.
The project is scheduled to be completed this autumn.
