Feeling at Home in Leeds guide briefing sessions

Attend a briefing session about the online transition guides available to help students settle into life at Leeds, together with an overview of the September 2019 International Welcome plans.

International universities 2 May 2019

Developed in collaboration with students and staff across campus, the ‘Feeling at Home in Leeds’ online guides were launched in September 2018 to support students and postgraduate researchers (PGRs) who have arrived in Leeds with their transitions to living and studying in a new social, cultural and academic environment.

The guides aim to support students’ wellbeing during a time of significant change and empower them to find the right opportunities and support to make the most of their time in Leeds, academically and personally. They are designed to be particularly useful for people studying in the UK for the first time, but include content that may be useful for all students. The guides complement existing face-to-face support and web information, featuring videos of students sharing their experiences as well as interactive activities, with versions for different study levels (UG, PGT and PGR).

Ahead of the next main arrival period in September 2019, the International Student Office would like to provide an opportunity for colleagues to hear about the project’s background, see a short demonstration and ask any questions. The session will provide you with the information you need to recommend the guides to students and PGRs and a brief overview of International Welcome plans.

Briefing sessions will take place on the following dates:

There is no need to sign up; just attend at the time that best suits you.
