Packed programme of events at Nexus

Here's a taster of the ongoing programme of events that Nexus will host to promote our research and innovation strengths and bring together with our academic community.

Please refer to the links for details of how to get involved or contact the Nexus team if you have an idea for an event.

Festival of ideas 2019 March 2019The programme kicks off on 8 April through a partnership with Leeds University Business School (LUBS) for this year’s Festival of Ideas – an annual event bringing together academia and industry for a day of thought-provoking talks and discussion. See www.leeds.ac.uk/festivalofideas for further information and to register.

In support of our sponsorship of Leeds Digital Festival (LDF), which last year attracted more than 20,000 attendees to the city, Nexus will run three events:

  • 23 April – The Data Shed and Amazon Web Services (early evening)
  • 2 May – Women In Leeds Digital (WILD) (daytime event); and
  • 3 May – Nexus and LUBS Fintech (early evening).

See www.leedsdigitalfestival.org for further information and booking details.

Working with water@leeds – one of the largest interdisciplinary centres for cutting-edge water research in the world – Nexus will also host numerous events this year to mark the organisation’s tenth anniversary. Visit www.water.leeds.ac.uk/10th-anniversary for further information about the 10th anniversary events.

And in collaboration with Bettakultcha – the independent forum for ideas, inventiveness and fun – Nexus is running a series of innovative discussion events. The first in the series took place last month and looked at the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technology on society. The next event will take place on the 17 April. Visit www.bettakultcha.com for more details nearer the date.
