Vote for your favourite research image

Cast your vote in the Leeds Doctoral College Research Image of the Year competition.

The Leeds Doctoral College Showcase is the annual celebration of postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and the significant contribution they make to the research profile of the University.

The 2018 event took place on 5 December – the same day on which a power cut affected most of the University. The PGR of the Year and Three-Minute Thesis competitions were able to go ahead, but unfortunately judging for the Research Image of the Year competition had to be rescheduled.

The competition asks PGRs to provide one image that explains or complements their research project. They should be attention-grabbing, to intrigue, inform or excite a non-specialist research audience about their work. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place.

Full printed images will be on display in the Parkinson Building on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 February 2019, along with descriptions explaining how they relate to the entrant’s research. Pop along to cast your vote or select your favourite online.

Voting will close at 3pm on Tuesday 19 February 2019 and winners will be announced at 4pm that day in Parkinson Court.

The Leeds Doctoral College would like to thank all entrants for their patience while the competition was rescheduled, and for allowing us to use their images.
