New car parking arrangements announced

New car parking arrangements will come into force on campus next week.

The multi-storey car park. February 2019

Reductions in the number of spaces during the past few years due to the construction of major new buildings, coupled with a growing demand, has increased our focus on working hard to effectively manage onsite car parking.

In order to achieve this, we would be grateful if colleagues complied with the following regulations.

With the opening of the Nexus building only a few weeks away, Level 8 of the multi-storey car park (Orange Zone) will be for the sole use of the new innovation centre's staff and clients from Monday 11 February 2019.

New signage has been installed on Level 8 making drivers aware of this change. An automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system is also in place, which will help us ensure staff and visitors are parking according to the new arrangements.

Whilst this floor will be closed for all other University permit holders and visitors, you will still be able to park on the remaining floors.

Staff without an annual permit are reminded they cannot turn up and park on the day – pre-booking via ParkIT is required.

Contractors also need to be pre-booked by the host department, unless they are accessing the car parks for less than 40 minutes.

Please contact our Car Parking Team with any concerns or questions.

We thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
