Have your say about our digital education systems

Staff and students are invited to help shape our digital education systems by joining a new user group.

We have a number of core digital education systems at Leeds, which are an essential part of the teaching and learning experience.

Launching this spring, the new user group is being established to enable academic staff and students to provide feedback on these systems, and to help shape future developments in functionality for:

  • Lecture Capture and Multimedia Management; and
  • Blackboard products – Minerva (Portal and VLE), Collaborate, Open Education and Analytics for Learn.

This is your opportunity to have your say on what systems work well and to identify where improvements could be made. You will also receive updates from the Minerva Board, Lecture Capture and Multimedia Management Operation Group and Digital Education Committee, including information about new digital education systems being scoped or implemented at the University.

Professor Neil Morris, Dean of Digital Education, said: “In recent years, the University has invested heavily in digital technology to provide a range of tools and systems to enhance the teaching and learning experience for staff and students.

“We are committed to the delivery of innovative, sector-leading digital education solutions, and are keen to create an ongoing dialogue with our staff and students to share their experience of using our core systems and further understand their expectations for future digital education provision.”

Digital Education Systems Manager, Trudy Wagstaff, added: “The creation of the user group is pivotal to ensuring digital education systems remain fit for purpose, and to enable staff and students to shape the future developments of the functionality in use.”

Chaired by Trudy, the user group will meet every two months, either on campus and/or virtually, and will report into the respective operational groups (Minerva and Lecture Capture and Multimedia Management). Refreshments will be provided during campus meetings.

Please complete the expression of interest form by Friday 22 February if you would like to join the group, or email Trudy for further information.
