#SEC2019, delivered by the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE), is being held on Thursday 10 to Friday 11 January 2019. The theme – Learning Spaces – will examine the many arenas in which students can learn and develop, create and collaborate, forge partnerships with communities, cross thresholds or take risks.

During the course of the two-day event, plenaries, breakout sessions and a panel will also consider sub-themes, such as informal learning spaces and architecture, digital platforms and technology enhanced learning environments.

Adam Finkelstein, from McGill University in Canada, will explore the impact technology-enhanced teaching spaces can have on learning, as part of the first keynote on Thursday 10 January.

The second keynote – on Friday 11 January – will be delivered by Professor Bart Rienties, of the Open University, who will discuss how the power of learning and teaching can be unharnessed by using learning analytics.

LITE Director, Dr Kelvin Tapley, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming two speakers of the calibre of Adam and Bart to deliver our keynotes at the conference, offering exciting perspectives on our theme of Learning Spaces, both from an ‘Edtech’ point of view and also the growing importance of learning analytics and its value to higher education."

Visit the LITE website for the full list of programme, abstracts and to book your place. Bookings close on Friday 14 December 2018.
