Mentors wanted

The School of Media and Communication is seeking mentors for second year students as part of their career mentoring scheme.

The School of Media and Communication is working with alumni and employers to run a career mentoring scheme to support undergraduate students develop soft skills, career knowledge and employability awareness.

Students are matched with mentors from an industry that they are interested in working in after university. The mentoring scheme runs from November to June 2019, and the minimum contact requirement is one hour per month.

The school are looking for mentors in the following areas:

  • User experience
  • Graphic design
  • PR
  • Web design
  • Web development
  • Illustration

If you are interested in becoming a mentor or know of someone who might be interested, please complete the application form and email it to Samantha Gill before Wednesday 14 November.

A launch event is being held at the University on Wednesday 14 November, 3–5pm, where mentors and mentees will get to meet for the first time and decide how they would like to keep in touch. Alternatively, if you are unable to attend the main event, arrangements can be made for the mentee to contact you via email.
