2018-19 HE pay negotiations - UCU announces ballot result

The University and Colleges Union (UCU) at Leeds has announced the result of its recent ballot for industrial action in furtherance of its dispute in relation to this year’s final pay offer.

The University of Leeds, along with many other institutions, did not achieve the 50% turnout required before industrial action can legally take place. As such, we do not expect any action (strike, or action short of a strike) to be called by UCU at Leeds.

Our two remaining unions (Unison and Unite) are still engaged in the ballot process and results will be shared as soon as they are available.

Following advice from UCEA, the University of Leeds has already implemented the final 2018/19 pay offer of between 2-2.7% base pay increases.
