Apply now for Be Curious 2019
Research groups and individuals from all disciplines are invited to participate in the University’s biggest Public Engagement event of the year.
Brave New World is the theme for Be Curious 2019. The fourth instalment of this hugely popular event, it represents the ideal opportunity for academics to showcase their world-leading research to the wider public.
More than a thousand visitors have attended Be Curious in previous years, and researchers can already sign up for next years celebrations on 30 March.
Dr Charlotte Haigh, Academic Lead for PE, said: "We encourage every research team to be involved in Be Curious.
Its about designing an activity that captures the interest of the audience (predominantly families), and gets them thinking about your research work and inspiring them to be as passionate about your topic as you are.
Be as creative as you like, think outside the box and develop an activity that will leave the audience with a lasting and positive impression of your research and the University.
We are always happy to discuss any ideas, no matter how different to what weve delivered in the past; remember, this years theme is Brave New World.
Complete the online form by 5pm on Monday 15 October to register an interest in taking part. These will be assessed by a panel of academics from across the University. Successful applicants will be informed by the week commencing Monday 5 November 2018, when further information about the proposed activity will be collected.
An information drop-in session is being staged in the Ziff Buildings Café Maia from 1-2pm on Tuesday 2 October for anyone who would like to discuss an idea before applying.
See the Be Curious webpage for more details about the event or email the PE team for further information.
