Sue Birch
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 13 September 2018, of Sue Birch, a member of the IT SAP team.
Sue joined the University in December 1999 as an Administrator in the Management and Admin Information Systems team. In August 2001 she became the HR Payroll Support and Development Officer, a role she held until November 2005 when she became Service Leader and SAP Manager.
Sue leaves behind 3 children and is survived by her mother. She will be greatly missed by friends and colleagues. Sue was a well-respected and much valued member of the SAP team, a supportive manager and colleague and friend to many. She was an active runner and is responsible for several SAP team members running in events. Her loss will be felt well beyond IT.
In memory of Sue, the IT Charity for 2018/19 will be Macmillan Cancer Support.
A funeral service will be held Thursday 27 September 2pm at St Mary’s Church, Greenfield, Oldham, OL3 7DX . Attendees have been asked to join the family afterwards at the Royal George, also in Greenfield.
The family have asked that you do not send flowers, but donations are welcome to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, who cared for Sue in her final days, either online or in cash at IT Reception (we will then pass on to the Hospice). IT reception is located at 9.01 IT services.
