REF2021 open meetings

The Research and Innovation Service is hosting a number of open meetings for all staff during the coming months regarding the University’s preparations for REF2021.

REF (Research Excellence Framework) is the system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions, a process undertaken every seven years. Leeds was ranked 10th in the UK for research power in REF2014.

The open meetings will be chaired by Professor Lisa Roberts, Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research and Innovation.

The first of these are scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesday 25 September 2018, 11am to 1pm, in the Chemical and Process Engineering LT B (1.06); and
  • Tuesday 2 October 2018, 11am to 1pm (location to be confirmed).

The focus of these meetings is to gather feedback on the recently published Draft Guidance on Submissions and Panel Criteria and Working Methods, as well as to provide information on how the University is preparing for REF2021.

Please register to attend via Eventbrite.

We welcome queries and comments via email in advance of the meetings.

Further open meetings will be confirmed in due course.
