New IT self-service website

A new IT self-service website is being launched by the University.

The key benefits for staff are:

  • the ability to raise directly any IT service requests and faults (incidents)
  • track and update requests and incidents they have logged with IT
  • search for help in the new ‘Knowledge Base’ facility; and
  • access live service status updates, allowing staff to alert IT if they are affected and then receive updates automatically.

This will replace the current IT website from Tuesday 4 September, ahead of the new academic year, but staff can already use the new site now.

The new site will have a different ‘look and feel’ but will do everything the old one did. To fully use the new site, staff should login as they would for Office365 and Minerva, as this will provide additional functionality that is not made available to guests.

IT Services is also keen to hear the views of staff about the changes, so it has provided a ‘Give feedback’ button on the homepage.
