Temporary closure of Mount Preston Street

The upper part of Mount Preston Street will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from Tuesday 28 August to Friday 31 August.

The street will be closed from 6.30am-3.30pm Tuesday to Thursday and between 6.30am and 2pm on the Friday.

Staff are advised to use alternative routes via Cromer Terrace.

  • residencies to minimise disruption to residents at the Storm Jameson and surrounding accommodation buildings
  • Catering Services/Commercial Services for re-organisation of the catering delivery routes
  • the Estates Project Managers of construction projects further down Mount Preston Street for alternative means of access via Cromer Terrace; and
  • the Bright Beginnings Childcare Centre for alternative means of access via Cromer Terrace.

The path will be closed for Actavo to deliver the building modules for the Mount Preston Street Teaching Building Project.

It will provide additional central teaching space, specifically four flat-floor teaching rooms with a capacity for 100 people and four teaching rooms each with a capacity for 36 people. This building is expected to be completed in time for the start of the new academic year this October.
